What is CDS?
Consumer-Directed Services (CDS) allow you to hire a family member or friend to care for you. Your chosen attendant will be trained and paid to provide you with the care you need at home. This option is available for disabled individuals above age 18 who can self-direct their own care.
If you have Medicaid coverage, then you’re eligible for Consumer-Directed Services (CDS). When you need help with daily activities in Missouri, turn to the people you trust most. Except for a spouse, any of your family members or friends can become your chosen home health aide.

If you have Medicaid, need help with daily activities, and live in Missouri, then get in touch with us for home health services. Hire a family member or friend to care for you, and they’ll get trained and paid to provide the care you need.
You are responsible for recruiting, choosing, hiring, training, and managing your own attendant. Attendants will assist with the activities of daily living, including:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Personal Hygiene
- Toileting
- Meal Preparation
- Housekeeping
- Companionship
- Medication Setup & Reminder
If you do not have a caregiver in mind, however, we can provide one for you so you can still reap the benefits of our consumer-directed services (CDS).
